Grief Therapy

It can be difficult to deal with loss. You may feel a range of feelings and thoughts as part of the grieving process. Grief therapy can help you process the challenges of grief and loss.

Grief is the Response to a Loss

Some of the types of losses that can result in grief include:

  • The loss of a loved one (partner, friends, family, etc.)
  • Loss of ideals or dreams, such as inability to have a child, having a close family, etc.
  • Loss of ability or wellness, such as developing a chronic condition like chronic pain or finding out you have a serious illness like cancer.
  • Loss of connection or belonging, such as losing friends and family after moving away or differences in opinion.
  • Loss of a pet.
  • Loss of something you never had, such as not having a supportive parent or a safe home to return to.
  • Other losses.

Each of these comes with its own challenges and struggles.
