Chronic Pain Therapy

Why I Might Be the Right Therapist for You?

I have been through my own journey with chronic pain and I apply my knowledge from my own pain journey as well as various trainings I have done over the years.
Despite my own pain journey, I know that you pain journey is unique to you, what’s important to you is different, and what will work may be different. I am focused on providing you with the support, knowledge, and skills that will help you reduce your suffering and achieve your goals.

Your Pain is Real

If you feel pain, your pain is real. Too many people in pain are blamed for their pain or have it discounted. That is not right. You didn’t decide to have pain.

Chronic pain is caused by a complex set of contributors. Some are in your control, and some are not. We can work together to change the contributors which are in your control. We can change the story of your pain and help you take more control. Whether the contributors are based in the past (trauma, adverse childhood experiences, etc.) or patterns you’re currently dealing with (negative thought patterns, harsh inner critic, perfectionism, people-pleasing, inner pressure, etc.).
Your whole body contributes to chronic pain. From the signals sent by your body, to the sensitization of your nervous system, to the interpretations made by your brain. We can work on changing the pattern of pain and help you gain more control of your life.

Emotional Impact and Struggles

There is more to a pain journey than just the sensation of pain. There’s the grief from the things you’ve lost due to the pain. A cascade of emotions connected to the pain: fear, sadness, anger, etc.

I provide you with a place of understanding, compassion, and care. A place where you can feel seen, heard, and understood; when your pain is welcome and we can work together to help you get more out of your life.

Hope and Rebuilding Your Life

Chronic pain can often feel hopeless or like a dead-end road. However, in recent years, more research has focused on the nociplastic aspect and type of pain, and effective techniques have been identified. There are people who have had severe chronic pain become pain-free, and others have experienced a significant reduction in pain.

By better understanding your pain and using skills and strategies that are appropriate for your pain, we can lessen the intensity and the impact pain has on your life.
